Wigan Athletic, who wore the badge of the Premier League from 2005 to 2014, are facing an extremely difficult period as they fight for survival in the Championship, only a season after returning from League One (third tier ) after two years. The popular "The Latics" did not fit in very well in the comeback season, so their position is in a very awkward situation, as they are currently cemented for the very bottom of the table with 32 points won, six less than the first team above the line.
Coventry City, a club that only five years ago was a member of League Two (fourth tier), is on the threshold of joining the first six places and and thus trying to make a historic success. Ahead of the 37th round of the Championship, The Sky Blues currently occupy a respectable ninth position in the table with 53 accumulated points, which means that they are only four points separate from the last place that guarantees the playoffs. There are still ten rounds left until the end of the regular part, so Coventry will try to interfer in the fight for the first six places.
Wigan Athletic vs Coventry City Betting Tips: AH2 (0)
In the first clash of the current season between Coventry and Wigan, in early November, tight football was played without too much action. In fact, only two chances were seen in that match. The hosts created both, and Hamer and Gyokeres used them in the best way and brought all three points to his team, as well as great joy to the fans.
Wigan will be looking for important points in the fight for bare life on Tuesday against high-flying Coventry. However, the form of The Latics oscillates and does not inspire much hope. Including the FA Cup, they managed to celebrate only once in the last 15 games, while they have stringed six games without success of late (D3, L3).
In addition to the desperate form, Wigan has encountered a new problem in recent weeks, another headache for the coach Shaun Maloney - the attack has started to bug. They managed to shake the net only four times in the last nine Championship games, while three of the last five ended without a goal scored.
Coventry, meanwhile, has found a winning spirit in recent games, so it's no wonder that they go to the visit of Wigan very confidently. Not only did The Sky Blues tied seven games without defeat, but they won 15 of a possible 21 points in that period, triumphing on four occasions from the last six Championship appearances.
Mark Robbins doesn't take the smile off his face, because his team shines on both ends of the field. Apart from the fact that they are undefeated in the last three visits (W2, D1), the coach is especially happy that they save the net intact in each of those. Coventry does not want to stop the climbing towards the top six, so we believe that they have an ideal opportunity to return from this visit with full fists.

Wigan Athletic Team News
Wigan welcome Coventry without the services of Jason Kerr and Martin Kelly, who are long-term absentees with serious knee injuries. Aside from the duo, Jack Whatmough's participation is questionable.
Omar Rekik, who is on loan from Arsenal, also misses Tuesday's clash as he was sent off in the match against Burnley. The 21-year-old centre-back will have to serve a one-match suspension.

Coventry City Team News
Meanwhile, Mark Robbins will have a much longer list of absent players than his colleague. Namely, Ben Sheaf, Jamie Allen, Liam Kelly, Callum O'Hare, Kasey Palmer and Fabio Tavares are injured.
The Sky Blues were one step away from a total turnaround against Hull, but they lacked luck in the very finish of the match, so they had to settle for a point. For the most part, the coach will not change anything in the first XI.
