This week sees an exciting duel between the two teams West Armenia and Van, who are separated by only one place.
After six matchdays, West Armenia have yet to pick up a single point in the league and are the only team still without a point. The hosts were good at home last year when they won the First League to secure their first promotion to the top flight. Zanazanyan's men are finding it hard to replicate that form this season, and this can best be explained by the fact that they have lost all their four home games so far with an aggregate score of 17-6.
Van have one win to their name but their form is not much different from that of the hosts. Sevada Arzumanyan's men enter Thursday's match on a three-match losing streak. Still, the fact that they did not lose any of their last two encounters with Western Armenia will motivate them ahead of Thursday's game.

West Armenia's defence this season does not look like that of a team that had the third best defence in the First League last season. Zanazanyan's side have conceded 21 goals already this season. Van started the season well defensively - conceding just one goal in their first three games - but have become vulnerable of late. Sevada Arzumanyan's side conceded five goals in their last match against Pyunik and conceded the same number of goals in their previous two matches combined.

Western Armenia will once again have to do without Edmon Movsisyan, who will serve the second of his two-match suspension for the red card he received against Pyunik.
Head coach Andranik Zanazanyan is expected to make some changes to the team that started in the defeat to Urartu but Sargis Metoyan who scored his third goal of the season in that match, will be in the starting eleven.
