After returning to Serie A (2019/20), Hellas Verona became a stable member of Italy's top flight. Survival was never in question and each of the previous three seasons they finished between 9th and 10th position, while in the previous campaign they even led the battle for European competitions. The club from the "city of love" is, however, unrecognizable this season, they are playing very poorly, which is best shown by the performance of only two wins from 18 games played. Disappointing results have pushed them into the relegation zone, where they are seven steps behind the safety zone and there is no doubt that they are awaiting a "spasmodic" battle for survival.
Meanwhile, Lecce returned to the Italian football elite last season, and as things currently stand, it is more and more certain that we will see them in Serie A next season. In truth, the club from Apulia did not bloom roses at the start of the season and many saw them as one of the candidates for relegation. However, the chosen of Marco Baroni have completely turned things around lately and now there is a positive atmosphere in Lecce's dressing room. The popular "Giallorossi", with a series of excellent results, managed to significantly escape from the relegation zone, so they are now in 14th place with as many as 11 points more than the teams in the danger zone.
Hellas Verona vs Lecce Betting Tips: X2
The last meetings of these teams date back to the 2019/20 season when both performed in Serie A. Then Verona proved to be the more successful team, winning both (1-0 / 3-0), while Lecce will now want a cruel revenge.
However, Verona is not even a pale shadow of the team from last season. They are still standing at the single-digit number of won points (9), which is perhaps the best indicator of how badly the club from the city of "Romeo and Juliet" is playing this season.
The terrible results from the first part of the season "turned on" the alarms in Verona. The club management appointed the experienced Marco Zaffaroni as the new manager during the World Cup break. Since he took over the helm, there has been a noticeable upswing in results from The Mastiffs, who have managed to pick up four points from their opening three games in the continuation of the season.
The fact that Hellas Verona has not drawn a single match at home this season speaks volumes that it's about a team that plays without calculations. They suffered 7 defeats from 9 home games, while they achieved both victories against teams that are stuck at the bottom of the table. This means that they are still far from their recognizable form.
Meanwhile, Lecce come to Verona with a lot of optimism. Counting the games before Serie A was interrupted due to the World Cup in Qatar, the "Giallorossi" stringed six games without defeat during which they collected 12 out of a possible 18 points (three wins and three draws each), while last weekend they held the current champion, AC Milan, to a 2-2 draw. A truly impressive performance!
The club from Apulia knew to make life difficult or make the result extremely uncertain with the Serie A heavyweights this season. If we are guided by that logic, then Verona should be "small fish" for Lecce. In any case, we expect a completely equal duel in which the visiting team will take something from this visit.

Hellas Verona Team News
Verona will be without the help of the injured Davide Faraoni and Mateusz Praszelik. DM Martin Hongla was not invited for the previous three matches because he could move to another club.
The attacking duo of Simone Verdi and Ajdin Hrustic are marked as questionable. The former missed the match against Inter, but his problem is minor, while the latter is recovering from an ankle injury.

Lecce Team News
Lecce travels to Verona without defensive duo Marin Pongracic (Ankle surgery) and Kastriot Dermaka (Pubalgia). This means that Samuel Umtiti, as well as Federico Baschirotto, who was one of the scorers in the 2-2 draw with AC Milan, will be again at the heart of the defense.
Central midfielder Thorir Johann Helgason and centre-forward Assan Ceesay were on the bench in the match against AC Milan. However, if all goes well with the Gambian, he should lead the attack of his team.
