La Liga action continues on Wednesday as Valencia takes on Real Sociedad at the Estadio de Mestalla.

Both teams come into this contest inside the top half of the division after relatively strong starts to the new season.

Hosts Valencia have picked up ten points from six games, including a hugely impressive 3-0 win against Atletico Madrid in their most recent home match. However, despite taking the lead twice, Rubén Baraja´s side were held to a 2-2 draw at Almeria this past weekend.

At the Mestalla, Valencia have remained inconsistent in 2023. Wednesday´s hosts have won six and lost four of 14 home matches this year. More recently, five of their last eight games saw BTTS. 

Still with just two defeats in their last 11 on home soil, and having scored at least one goal in 11 of their last 12 home matches, the hosts should be expected to make this a tough night for the Champions League qualifiers. 

Sociedad come into this match currently one point behind their hosts after a dramatic 4:3 win against Getafe on Sunday. This season, the visitors have seen BTTS in six of seven games played, including a 2-1 loss at Real Madrid in their last road match.

A tough match to call with two sides relatively evenly matched, a low-scoring share of the spoils looks a likely outcome. While this game could go under 2.5 goals, I do like the chances of BTTS with Sociedad seeing that outcome so frequently in recent weeks. 

Three of the last four matches between these sides finished deadlocked, but with both teams a little more attack-minded this season, a score draw looks the best bet for this La Liga contest.
