Sweden U19 vs Switzerland U19 prediction 12.11.2025 | EURO U19 qualifications

Sweden U19 has never had many successes in this age group, reaching the quarterfinals only twice (1964 and 1990). They didn't qualify for the last six tournaments and even that would be a big step forward. Last year, Sweden U19 lost all three games in the first stage of the qualifications and ended last on the table. Since then, Mirza Jelecak's team has drawn one and lost four of five friendly matches. In the most recent outing, Sweden U19 lost 1-0 against Croatia U19. 

Sweden U19's main problem is their defense as they conceded at least two goals in eight of their previous ten matches. Without improving defense, Jelecak's team doesn't have a realistic chance for success in the upcoming qualifications. 

Sweden U19 have some interesting players in the squad. Love Arrhov shows the biggest promise. The attacking midfielder played 20 games for Brommapojkarna in the 2025 season and will join Eintracht Frankfurt in January. The right-back Filip Ohman didn't have many opportunities in Hacken in the previous season, but he is another player who could become an essential piece for the Swedish senior squad. 

Like Sweden U19, Switzerland U19 have never won the UEFA European U19 Championship. Their best performance came in 2004, when they reached the semifinals but were eliminated by Turkey. In the previous campaign, Switzerland U19 won two of three matches, but that was not enough to progress to the next phase. Since then, the team has been fairly consistent in friendly matches, recording three wins, two draws, and two defeats. In the most recent game, Switzerland U19 played 2-2 against Northern Ireland U19. 

Switzerland U19 also have big defensive problems. They conceded nine goals in the last three matches. 

Switzerland U19's best player is probably RB Salzburg's Enrique Aguilar. He is already getting chances for his club and should lead Switzerland U19 in the upcoming matches. Marvin Akahomen and Neil Volken are two other players who should have a big role on Wednesday against Sweden U19.
