Slovakia doesn't have too many appearances at the major tournament, but they were at the previous European Championship. Now, Slovakia wants to repeat that success. Slovakia started well in the qualifications with ten points after four rounds. That is enough for the second position, but now, they will play versus the strongest opponent in the group, Portugal. Slovakia won the last three games in a row, including a 1-0 win on the road against Liechtenstein in the previous match. Most fans expected Slovakia to win much easier in that game, but eventually, they pulled up three points, and that is the most important. 

Portugal is one of the best teams in Europe and should finish among the best two teams traveling to the European Championship next summer. So far, Portugal collected a maximum of 12 points and they are first on the table. In the previous round, Portugal won 1-0 on the road against Iceland. Guests had 66% ball possession and four shots more than the opponent, but Portugal needed Cristiano Ronaldo's goal late in the second half to secure another win.
