Sevilla will be looking for a win that could see them leave the bottom of the Spanish top flight table when they play host to one of the new boys, Las Palmas on Sunday.

The hosts finished last season in form in La Liga, with the team picking up five wins from the final six league games. They also ended the 2022-23 season with a trophy that many say has become their inheritance: the Europa League. José Luis Mendilibar's side have unfortunately failed to replicate that form so far this season, losing all three of their games.

Las Palmas meanwhile are playing in the Spanish top flight for the first time since the 2017-18 season when they got relegated. Los Amarillos did well last season - finishing second in the Segunda División - to gain promotion but are not having the start they would have wanted on their return to the top flight. The visitors achieved a hard fought draw with Real Sociedad on match day two after losing their first game, but were again on the losing side against Girona on match day three.

Sevilla vs Las Palmas Betting Tips: Sevilla win & Under 2.5 goals

Sevilla have lost all three of their games so far but should not be written off at home. Los Nervionenses won all three of their previous home games against Las Palmas, so a home win is the most likely outcome of Sunday's game.

Las Palmas' biggest strength last season was their defence, as they conceded the fewest goals in the second division. The visitors have yet to win this season, but that defensive stability has already been seen. All their three games ended with less than 2.5 goals.

  • Best Tip: Under 2.5 goals
  • Sevilla vs Las Palmas prediction: 1-0

Sevilla team news

Sevilla are set to be without the services of Marcos Acuña who picked up a muscle injury in the defeat to Alaves on Match day two.

The Argentine left-back will be joined on the hosts' injured list by Tanguy Nianzou, Marcão and Alfonso Pastor, who are suffering from hamstring, muscle and meniscus injuries respectively.

Youssef En-Nesyri has not scored since his matchday one strike but the Moroccan striker is expected to lead the line and is likely to be joined upfront by Érik Lamela and Lucas Ocampos.

Las Palmas team news

Las Palmas have had Ibrahima Kébé out since June 2022 with a knee injury, and Sunday's game comes too soon for the midfielder.

He is joined in the treatment room by Toni Villa, who is suffering from a cruciate ligament injury, but otherwise coach García Pimienta has no new injuries to complain about.
