Having played out a 1:1 draw in Turin, Sevilla welcomes Juventus to the Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán on Thursday for a place against either Leverkusen or Roma in the UEFA Europa League final.

While Juventus began this tie as favourites to progress to the final in Budapest, a superb display in Italy leaves Europa League experts Sevilla with every chance of making their fifth final in less than a decade.

Winners of this competition on four previous occasions since 2014, Sevilla fans have every right to feel confident of their sides' chances of claiming the scalp of their Italian visitors. 

Despite a fairly miserable domestic campaign which has seen them flirt with relegation before steadily rising up the La Liga table in recent weeks, Sevilla remains a force on their own patch, particularly in this competition.

Winning seven of their last ten home league outings, Sevilla have an even stronger home record in the Europa League, with victories recorded in each of their last eight games at the Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán since 2020. Even in this campaign, Los Rojiblancos have raised their game to claim home victories against PSV, Fenerbahce and Manchester United. 

Scoring a total of eight goals in those three wins, Sevilla also managed clean sheets in all three victories, a feat they have achieved in ten of their last 13 home EL victories. Incredibly, Los Rojiblancos have not lost any of their previous 34 home EL matches since 2014!

Still, Sevilla should expect a strong Juve with the Old Lady unbeaten in each of their last five games, including an impressive 2.0 win on their travels at Atalanta. In addition, Juventus remain unbeaten in three away EL games this season with victories at Nantes and Freiburg and a draw at Sporting, ensuring their progress to this semi-final showdown.

With so much to play for, and nothing to choose between these sides, a tight contest seems likely; however, we fancy Sevilla´s great history of success in this competition to potentially prove the difference maker.
