Serbia will be fighting for a spot in the last sixteen of the World Cup 2022 when they play Switzerland in the last matchday of Group G on Friday. The on-paper hosts have failed to win both their games so far, but still have a glimmer of hope as their 3-3 draw with Cameroon earned them a point last week. On the other hand, the Swiss side has one leg in the next round already with three points bagged from their opening-day victory over Cameroon. But everything could go south for them if they lose to Serbia as Brazil is very well expected to beat Cameroon and march towards a third successive win in the biggest tournament in world football. A very interesting piece of trivia is that Serbia's games so far have not at all been shy of goals with eight goals already scored at both ends in their opening two games. If both the nations really have a go at it, at Ras Abu Aboud in Qatar, we could be in for a cracker.
Serbia vs Switzerland Betting Tips: BTTS
Serbia might be one of the nations who really play a high risk, high reward model of football, but Switzerland have been really cautious with their gameplay, conceding very few goals often. Five of the on-paper visitors' last seven games have ended in under 2.5 goals and none of these last seven fixtures of theirs have seen more than three goals. From a non-statistical perspective, there are very low chances that this experienced Switzerland side let slip this opportunity to play in the last sixteen, going into this game with a two point advantage. But, Serbia have some of the best attacking talent in their front three and could really be a menace even for a defensively organized side like the Swiss. We are predicting this game to end in a 1-1 or a 2-2 draw on Friday and thus, BTTS could be the way to go for this tie. One can even go for an accumulator of Under 3.5 goals and BTTS to amplify the odds.

Serbia Team News
Serbia, as previously mentioned, have played quite an open style of football in this World Cup campaign so far, putting a lot of emphasis on outscoring the opponent rather than sitting back, and parking the bus. This was partially rewarded too, against Cameroon, as two of their world-class front three personnel were on the scoresheet before the hour mark. Quite obviously this game's result will be dependent on whether the Serbians can breach a very organized Switzerland back-four in addition to the experienced deep pivot of Granit Xhaka and Remo Freuler sitting ahead of their defensive line. This makes Aleksandar Mitrovic and Dusan Tadic very important naturally as they are the best goal-scoring options for the on-paper hosts. One wildcard, who can really make an impression and change the game, is left-winger Filip Kostic. Kostic is yet to play his best game of the campaign so far, and with elimination on the line, this might be the perfect opportunity.
Players to watch: Aleksandar Mitrovic, Dusan Tadic, Filip Kostic

Switzerland Team News
There are very high chances that Switzerland will try to keep as much possession of the ball and play a very deep defensive line as they just need to stop Serbia from winning, to qualify for the knockout stages. They have an experienced double pivot of Xhaka and Freuler, ahead of a back-four which will be led by Manchester City centre-back Manuel Akanji and the veteran left-back Ricardo Rodriguez. One very important player, who could change Serbia's fortunes alone, could be goalkeeper Yann Sommer. Sommer was one of the heroes of the surprising and successful Euro 2021 campaign for the Swiss and almost earned his nation a fantastic result against Brazil as he left the pitch as the best player on the pitch despite a late Brazilian goal. Switzerland should be heavily dependent on how focused Akanji, Rodriguez and Sommer will be in this game which could make or break their international footballing year.
