  • Competition: EURO 2024 Qualifiers
  • Date: Thursday, 23rd March 2023
  • Kickoff: 19:45 UK / 20:45 CET
  • Venue: San Marino Stadium (Serravalle)

San Marino are the worst national team according to the FIFA World Ranking list. That is not too strange since they are one of the smallest countries in the World. Their only win in 195 games was back in 2004 in a friendly match against Lichtenstein. Since then, they have played 123 games, drew five times, and lost 118 matches.

In the last four games, San Marino managed to draw two and lost two games, which is a big success since they only had ten draws total in their history. Still, those draws were against Saint Lucia and Seychelles - also one of the worst teams in the World.

San Marino recently competed in UEFA Nations League D, Group 2, with Malta and Estonia and haven't won a single point. In fact, they lost all four matches without scoring a goal.

Northern Ireland haven't qualified for the last World Cup and the Euro, but they did not disappoint in those qualification games. They came third in both of those competitions. They were behind Switzerland and Italy in the World Cup qualifiers, and Germany and Netherlands were better than them in the Euro qualifiers.

In the UEFA Nations League, they had to do much better against Greece, Kosovo, and Cyprus. They finished the competition third with only five points in six matches.

San Marino vs Northern Ireland pick: Northern Ireland to win and cover -1.5 AH spread

San Marino are one of the worst teams in the World. They had two draws in the last four matches, but that was against other poor teams. Against European national teams, San Marino lost 19 games in a row and only scored three goals in that period.

Northern Ireland weren't great in the last UEFA Nations League, but this game should be the perfect opportunity for a moral boost for the upcoming games.

These teams played four h2h games, and Northern Ireland won all of them with an average of 3.5 goals difference.

San Marino Team News

San Marino's team consists only of players from the domestic league.

The 37-year-old defender Mirko Palazzi could be the team's best player and one of the few players who played outside San Marino. Palazzi was a part of the Rimini and Consenza squad but was mainly sent on loans in lower leagues.

San Marino's starting left full-back in the UEFA Nations League, Andrea Grandoni, is out due to a knee injury.
