Peterborough will be looking to get back to winning form on Wednesday when they take Gary Neville´s Salford in the FA Cup.

Currently fourth in League One, the Posh have been a little inconsistent in recent weeks and arrive at League Two Salford having won three and lost three (including an EFL Trophy penalty-shoot-out loss) of their last seven matches.

Yet, they should still be confident here with Salford struggling badly for form, having failed to score in each of their last four matches, including a pair of goal-less draws and two 1:0 losses.

Salford vs Peterborough Betting Tips: Under 2.5 goals

Cup football is always tough to call, with the underdogs boasting home advantage and Peterborough not quite at the top of their form.

Still, Salford´s home form has not been great over the past month or so, with the hosts failing to win any of their last 5 at the Peninsula Stadium while scoring just 1 goal and taking just 2 draws.

With that being said, Peterborough´s away form is not great, with six losses in their last eight on the road. While favourites, that´s hardly the kind of form that makes the visitors easy to back.

As such, we´ll take a chance on another low-scoring contest for Salford, with the home side seeing only eight goals scored in their last seven matches. All seven finished with under 2.5 goals scored, and while hardly a banker pick, given that this is a cup tie between two sides from different divisions, a low-scorer looks safer than backing either side for the win while Salfford´s inability to find the net in recent weeks also rules out the BTTS choice.
