- Competition: League Two

- Kickoff: 19:45 UK / 20:45 CEST
- Venue: Peninsula Stadium (Salford)
Since gaining promotion from the National League (fifth tier) in the 2018/19 season, Salford City were mostly a mid-table team in the following four seasons. Last season, The Ammies had their best season so far, finishing 7th and reaching the playoffs for the first time since their arrival in League Two. Unfortunately for them, Stockport County were better and knocked them out in the Semi-Finals. This season, Salford City started very poorly, as they are in 18th place with just seven points after seven rounds.
One of the oldest clubs in England, Notts County, spent the last four seasons in the fifth tier of English football. Last season, The Magpies finally gained promotion to League Two by winning the playoffs after finishing second in the regular season with 107 points - four away from Wrexham. This season started great for them, and they currently sit in 2nd place, with 14 points, just one away from the 1st-placed Gillingham.
Salford City vs Notts County pick: Notts County to win
Salford City are on a very bad streak, with four losses in the last five matches. Also, in the last three games vs Walsall, Bolton, and Morecambe, they scored just one goal. At Peninsula Stadium, Salford have been atrocious, with only one point in three matches. So far, only Forest Green are worse than Salford at home.
Notts County are playing very well. They won three of the last five matches and looked good even in those games where they failed to win (vs MK Dons and Wolves U21). In the previous match vs Wolves U21 in the EFL Trophy, Notts County lost 2:1 but heavily rotated the squad and still had 81% ball possession and many chances to secure a positive result.
In recent League Two games, Notts County have been very efficient, scoring nine goals in the previous four matches - 2.2 per game. Considering the difference in form and especially the difference in goalscoring form, we favor Notts County to win and maybe secure 1st place in League Two after eight rounds.

Salford City team news
After a 2:1 loss to Walsall, coach Neil Wood spoke to the media. He said they played a very good first half, and he thinks they should have scored at least three goals but paid the price for their inefficiency. "We need to improve, we need to get better all over the pitch, but we can definitely build on the first-half performance," the coach added.
Matthew Lund served his suspension after receiving a red card in the previous game vs Morecambe and should be available for the Notts County game. On the other hand, three players who missed the previous games might miss the next one, too: defenders Liam Shephard and Luke Garbutt and the team's top goalscorer this season, Callum Hendry.
Interestingly, Salford City is co-owned by a few former Manchester United players and the members popular "The Class of 92". Gary Neville, Phil Neville, Paul Scoles, Nicky Butt, Ryan Giggs, and David Beckham all own 10% of the club, while Singaporean businessman Peter Lim is the majority owner.

Notts County team news
Coach Luke Williams spoke to the media after a 2:1 loss to Wolves U21 in the EFL Trophy. He said he was satisfied with the overall performance but said they allowed sloppy goals after mistakes, which they have to work on.
In the previous game vs Wolves U21, coach Williams heavily rotated the squad to keep his players fresh for the upcoming league game vs Salford City.
The only players who could miss the game vs Salford are strikers David McGoldrick and Cedwyn Scott. Still, the first option upfront and their key player, Macaulay Langstaff, is ready and rested. Last season, Langstaff scored an incredible 42 goals in 47 league games.
