Last season, Salernitana barely managed to secure survival among the best Italian clubs, finishing just one point above the relegation zone. As in the previous campaign, the primary goal of the club from Campania this season will of course be survival in Serie A, and the most important thing is that their plans are going in the right direction at the moment. Coach Davide Nicola's team is currently positioned in 16th position with 18 points from the same number of games played, which is even 9 points less than the first most threatened team.
Napoli, a club enjoying a phenomenal season in the domestic championship, suffered a shock in mid-week, thus missing the chance to repeat the great feat of 1986/87 and take two titles in one season in the popular "Boot". Their dreams were destroyed no less than Cremonese, a club that is not only the weakest this season in Serie A, but also a team that has not managed to beat anyone since the start of the season. Be that as it may, The Parthenopeans now have to stay focused on the Italian championship, where they keep everything under control - they are the leaders in the table with 47 points and have as many as nine points more than the first companion, the AC Milan team.
Salernitana vs Napoli Betting Tips: OVER 2.5
Napoli definitely lies Salernitana as an opponent, bearing in mind that the current leaders of Serie A are now aiming for a fifth consecutive triumph over the club from Campania, winning three of those four with at least two goals difference.
On October 30 last year, Salernitana managed to make a surprise and beat Lazio in the middle of Rome with 3-1, but since then the club from Campania entered a result crisis, where they won only two points from six games.
To make matters worse, "Granata" experienced a real disaster last weekend, suffering the heaviest defeat so far against Atalanta (8-2). Yes, yes, you read that right. It is, in fact, the fifth game in the last six in which this club takes the ball out of its net at least twice. What worries the coach is that the end of the crisis is still not in sight.
Looking on the positive side, Davide Nicola's chosen showed resourcefulness and creativity in front of the goal. They have found the back of the net in all but one of their last eight games and will now undoubtedly want to prove themselves against the Serie A leader in the best possible light in front of their home fans.
Napoli, meanwhile, dominates the Italian championship. The defeat against Inter at the start of the second part of the season did not disrupt them, so the champion reaction of the club from the south of Italy followed. First, they routinely beat Sampdoria (2-0), and then, to put it mildly, they sunk "The Old Lady", outclassing her 5-1.
The attacking zone of The Parthenopeans looks relentless. On average, Spalletti's boys score 2.4 goals per game, which clearly shows how dangerous their attack is, so we expect them to adopt an attacking approach again.
What characterizes both teams this season are effective and attractive games with a lot of goals, so it's no wonder that they belong to the group of most effective teams in Serie A. As many as 12 out of 18 of Salernitana's, as well as Napoli's 11/18 games, contained at least three goals. Granata may have the potential to shake the net, but not to avoid defeat by Napoli, who want to further strengthen their leading position.

Salernitana Team News
Salernitana continues to play without key duo Pasquale Mazzocchi (ACL injury) and Giulio Maggiore (Hamstring injury) who should be back on the field in mid-February. However, that's not all!
Namely, captain Federico Fazio suffered a calf injury in the match against Atalanta, so he will have to be absent for at least 3-4 weeks. Goalkeeper Luigi Sepe and CB Dylan Bronn are marked as questionable.
