Looking to end a three-game winless streak, Roma returns to Serie A action when they host Sampdoria at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday.

Now fifth in the division, Jose Mourinho´s men remain very much in the hunt for Champions League qualification, with city rivals Lazio currently second, just five points ahead of their great rivals.

Contrastingly, Sampdoria remains in serious relegation trouble, with the Genoans nine points adrift of safety with only 11 games remaining in the campaign.

While Roma suffered a shock 4:3 reversal against Sassuolo in their most recent home game, prior to that surprising loss, they had won each of their previous five at the Olimpico. They also kept clean sheets in all five victories. 

Visiting Sampdoria arrives in Rome boosted by a 3:1 win against Verona last time out however, despite that victory, I Blucerchiati seems destined for the drop, having picked up just three points in their previous ten league outings.

On the road, Samp have now lost four of their last five and nine of 13 away games this season. That losing form seems likely to continue on Sunday, with the visitors also losing six of their last eight away games against I Giallorossi.

At the Olimpico, goals are usually in relatively short supply. While seven were scored in that remarkable 4:3 loss to Sassuolo, no more than three goals had been scored in any of Roma´s previous 17 home league games since February of last year.

With that in mind, we´re backing the hosts to maintain their solid home form, and while a win only pays at somewhat short odds, adding the under 3.5 goal pick gives some value to the selection. Sampdoria have also seen under 3.5 goals in 10 of their last 12 away Serie A matches.
