Following a midweek Conference League semi-final draw at Leicester, Roma returns to Serie A action as they look to maintain their grip on a Europa League qualifying position when they entertain Bologna at the Stadio Olimpico.

Roma have enjoyed a stronger second half to the season under Jose Mourinho and while they remain in 5th spot, both Lazio and Fiorentina are within touching distance, just 2 points behind with Atalanta 1 point further back in 8th position.

Having enjoyed a fine 12-match unbeaten run, Roma came unstuck at Inter last weekend but they have been strong at home in recent weeks, picking up important wins against Atalanta, Lazio and Salernitana as they look to hold off the charges of the three sides immediately below them in the Serie A standings.

As such, Roma will know the importance of picking up another big win here but they should expect a tough contest with visiting Bologna boosted by a shock midweek win against title-chasing Inter.

Unbeaten in each of their last 5 league matches with just 2 defeats from their last 10, Bologna sit comfortably in mid-table however they have failed to win any of their last 7 away league matches and will need to improve if they are to taking anything from this contest.

Indeed, Roma does boast a pretty good record in this fixture recently, winning 4 of their last 5 home matches against Bologna including a 1:0 win in last season´s corresponding contest and another narrow victory seems a likely outcome here.

Given all that, we expect Roma to make it 4 home wins in a row against a Bologna side that while lifted by recent form, still struggles on the road and with Roma in good form at the Olimpico we´re backing Mourinho´s side to maintain their grip on 5th place.

Final score 2:1
