- Venue: Estadio Santiago Bernabéu (Madrid)
After winning both the La Liga and Champions League in the 2021/22 season, last season was unsuccessful as they won "only" Copa del Rey, and we can all agree that is not enough for one of the biggest clubs in the World. The current season started very well for Los Blancos. They already secured the next phase in the Champions League after winning all four games, and, in the domestic league, they are 2nd with 29 points from 12 matches, just two points away from the first-placed Girona.
Valencia are coming to this season after their worst one in a long time. They finished 16th, just two points away from the relegation zone, but the Bats are looking a lot better this season. They had a somewhat easier schedule in the last few La Liga games and did great. With eight points in the last four games, Valencia moved to 8th place, just two points away from European spots.
Real Madrid vs Valencia pick: Over 2.5 goals
In the last eight games in all competitions, Real Madrid were six times over 2.5 goals. Their offense is great, but considering their potential, we are, of course, not surprised by it. At home, Los Blancos are very efficient and have scored two or more goals in five of seven matches in all competitions. On the other hand, even though they are the best defensive team in La Liga, they will have several injured or suspended players who are really important for their defense, so we do not trust them to keep a clean sheet vs in-form Valencia.
Valencia are looking really good as they haven't lost in the last five games in all competitions. In those five matches, they were pretty efficient, scoring at least a goal in every one of those. Defensively, they looked very good in previous games, but that was against much weaker teams, and most of their good defensive displays came at home. On the road, the Bats allowed ten goals in six La Liga games and still haven't had a clean sheet. So, keeping Real Madrid away from scoring two or three goals at Estadio Santiago Bernabéu will be a challenging task.
Considering Real Madrid's offensive potential, both team's good goalscoring form, and Valencia's poor defensive record on the road, we think that an over 2.5 goals bet is the safest option for this tie.

Real Madrid team news
Antonio Rudiger collected his fifth yellow card in the previous La Liga game and will serve a one-game suspension. Considering Eder Militao will remain sidelined with a long-term injury, the best options at the back are David Alaba and Nacho Fernandez.
Another important player for Real Madrid's defense, midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni, will remain sidelined with a broken foot.
Thibaut Courtois will remain sidelined, and the first option this season with him out was Kepa Arrizabalaga. But Kepa suffered an injury during the warmups for the game vs Braga in the Champions League and might also miss the Valencia game. With both of them potentially out, Andriy Lunin should start on the goal.
Besides those we mentioned, Ferland Mendy and Dani Ceballos are listed as questionable with minor injuries and might also miss the game.
