Real Madrid are not on their level in the Spanish competitions. They are six points behind Barcelona in La Liga, with one played game more than Barcelona. In Spanish Cup, they are also in a rough spot after losing to Barcelona in the first leg of the semi-finals. On the other hand, they have been great in the Champions League so far.

After winning 5:2 against Liverpool in Spain, Real Madrid failed to win three games in a row - they drew with Betis and Atletico Madrid in La Liga and lost 1:0 in the Cup against Barcelona in Madrid. In the last match, they managed to break that three-game winless streak with a 3:1 over Espanyol. 

This season could be one of the worst in recent years for Liverpool. They are in 5th place in Premier League, with a realistic chance to miss the continental European competitions next season. Currently, Liverpool have one point more than Newcastle but played two games more. 

Liverpool are already knocked out of the EFL, and FA Cup and with no chance of winning the Premier League. The Champions League is the only competition where they could win the title. After losing 5:2 in England against Real, those chances look very slim. The Reds will have to score at least three goals, so we can expect a very offensive approach since they have little to lose in this match. 

In the last match, they failed to score against Bournemouth, where they lost 1:0 on the road, but before that game, they won 7:0 against Manchester United. That game showed how dangerous they can be.

Real Madrid scored eight goals in the last three La Liga home games. On the other hand, Liverpool scored at least two goals in five of the previous seven games. 

We should see an exciting match because Liverpool needs to open and attack from the start of the game. In the first h2h match, Liverpool took an early 2:0 lead, but Real Madrid scored five after conceding two goals in the first 15 minutes of the game. Both teams were bad under pressure, and we have seen one goal on each side after the goalkeeper's mistakes.
