Reading will welcome promotion-chasers Sheffield United in the 29th round of the Championship.

Reading are in 15th place with 11 points away from the playoffs and 12 points away from the relegation zone. They are playing one strange season, being one of the best teams at home and the worst team in the league when on the road. The perfect example of their current season are the last four games. In those four, they won two at home with a 5:2 goal difference and lost two with a 0:6 goal difference. From 44 points, they won 33 at home!

Sheffield United are close to gaining promotion to Premier League, but they complicated their chances by losing three of the last four games in the Championship.

In the last match, they lost 1:0 against another promotion contender, Blackburn, but they were solid and deserved at least one point. Before that loss, they eliminated Tottenham in the FA Cup 1/8 finals. Sheffield Utd were great in that match. They neutralized Tottenham and patiently waited for their chance.

Reading vs Sheffield United pick: Both teams to score

Reading are playing well at home. In the last nine home games, they lost just once and have scored at least one goal in all of them. Reading averages 2.7 goals per game, third-most in the Championship.

Sheffield United are very capable of scoring against anyone in the league. So far, they have scored 55 goals in 34 matches. In 20 road matches this season in all competitions, Sheffield Utd scored at least one goal in 15.

While Sheffield United are undoubtedly a better team, they will face a challenging challenge against Reading, which plays at another level at home. Considering all the above, both teams to score should be the best choice for this game.

Reading Team News

There are speculations that the club is under investigation for financial misdemeanors and could lose six points which could drag them close to the relegation zone.
After an embarrassing 5:0 loss to Middlesborough, Reading's coach Paul Ince talked to the media. He was focused on refereeing and said the early penalty changed the concept of the game. "I feel the referee made two diabolical decisions, and that cost us a chance of winning this game today," he said.
Reading will miss Rahman Baba, Junior Hoilett, Sam Hutchinson, and Dejan Tetek due to injuries. On the other hand, Reading's defender, Tom Holmes, returned to the field against Middlesbrough after missing four straight games due to injury. He should play in this match, at least for a half.
