Central defender Mohamed Simakan spoke to the media before the Werder Bremen match. He said they still haven't accomplished anything this season, but if they win the Cup and secure the Champions League next season, they will be satisfied. He also said the atmosphere is excellent in the dressing room due to many victories and good defensive performances.
A starting central defender, Joško Gvardiol, trained individually this week due to muscle problems and is questionable for the next game.
Konrad Laimer is also questionable with muscular problems. The 25-year-old is one of the team's best midfielders but started only in 45% of Bundesliga matches for RB Leipzig due to injuries.
Due to a long-term injury, Peter Gulacsi will remain sidelined.
