Betting tips Rangers vs RB Leipzig 

Ibrox Stadium plays host to a huge occasion on Thursday as Rangers look to overturn a one-goal deficit when they play host to RB Leipzig in the second leg of the Europa League semi-finals.

RB claimed a narrow and hard-fought 1:0 victory in last week´s first leg with the Bundesliga side finally breaking a stiff Rangers rearguard in the final minutes with a brilliant volley from Spanish full-back Angelino. 

However, the Germans will know they face a huge test of their credentials in Thursday´s second leg with Rangers very much a different team when backed by their vociferous Glaswegian support. 

Indeed, having already claimed the scalps of Dortmund and Braga with thrilling second leg performances at Ibrox, Giovanni´Van Bronckhort´s side should not be underestimated despite wide betting odds which have RB as short as just 1.16 to progress. Rangers are 5.0 odds against to reach the final in Sevilla later this month.

Rangers claimed an excellent 1:1 draw at Celtic on Sunday, despite the absence of several key players including Morelos, Hagi, Roofe and Ramsey yet despite a weakened side, the Ibrox side could count themselves unfortunate not to claim a well-deserved win with goalscorer Fashion Sakala desperately unlucky not to score a second in the closing minutes.

However, with that failure to win, Rangers remain 6 points behind the league leaders with their dreams of retaining the title all but gone.

RB, for their part, arrives in Glasgow having endured a tough 3:1 away at Borussia Monchengladbach on Monday and having used their top stars in that fixture, it remains to be seen if the short turnaround from that match to this, could cause the Germans some issues with both mental and physical fatigue.

Ultimately, this should prove to be a cracking contest in Glasgow with Rangers potentially bolstered by the returns of Roofe and Ramsey and while it would take a seriously special performance to claim the scalp of the supremely talented RB, Ibrox is a place where special things have been known to happen.

With that being said, we expect Rangers to claim at least a draw at 1.72 odds with Ibrox proving a particularly hostile venue for recent visiting opponents.

Will they pull off the big upset? Extra time could be required and while it remains a tough ask, Rangers have displayed plenty of courage in recent performances and a big win could yet be theirs for the taking.
