Following a third successive heavy loss against Napoli on Wednesday, Rangers return to Premiership action as they take on Dundee Utd at Ibrox.

Despite an improved performance and being level in the match until the hour mark, a James Sands red-card would lead to the Gers' downfall as an impressive Napoli extended Rangers' nightmare run of form with three second-half strikes. Rangers last suffered 3 successive defeats back in August of last year.

Now 5 points behind Premiership leaders Celtic, Rangers can ill-afford any further domestic slip-ups and having shipped 11 goals in successive losses against Celtic, Ajax and Napoli, Giovanni Van Bronckhorst´s side will be desperate to stop the rot against a Dundee Utd side also short in form.

Rangers vs Dundee Utd Betting Tips: BTTS - NO

Indeed, the visiting Arabs arrive at Ibrox having taken just 1 point from their last 5 league outings, a run that included a humiliating 9:0 loss to Celtic. United also managed just 1 goal and conceded 17 in total in further losses against Livingston, Hearts and St Mirren.

Rangers have dominated this fixture over the past couple of seasons with 5 wins in their last 7 meetings since 2020, including each of their last 4 at Ibrox, and while recent results have been unacceptable, the performance against Napoli was much improved, despite the final scoreline.

However, despite a dreadful run, Rangers remain imperious on their own patch domestically, winning 14 of the last 16 home league outings with clean sheets in 12 of those 14 wins.

Dundee Utd, while currently bottom of the division with just 2 points from 6 matches, have proven a tough side to beat on the road in 2022, though, with just 4 defeats in their last 12 away fixtures.  However, just 2 wins in their last 17 games suggests the visitors will do well to return home to Tayside with anything from this fixture.

Ultimately, Rangers, despite a miserable run of results, should still have the quality to get back to winning form here, although a lack of confidence suggests a hard-fought victory is more likely than a free-flowing performance. It should be noted Rangers claimed 1:0 and 2:0 victories when these sides met in Glasgow twice last season.

As such, we´ll take Rangers to win and BTTS no - with United struggling badly for attacking form.
