Eight points behind Primeira Liga leaders Benfica, Porto know only a win will do when they host struggling Estoril at the Estádio Do Dragão (Porto).

Following a disastrous home loss against Gil Vicente, Porto returned to winning ways last weekend with a 3:1 with at Chaves and will now be expected to claim another three points against an Estoril side that sits 15th in the division, having lost each of their previous four Primeira Liga matches.

While Porto did lose their most recent match at the Estádio Do Dragão, their home record is a strong one, with the Dragões winning nine and losing just two of 11 home matches this season. However, Porto had not lost any of their previous 36 home league games prior to recent losses against Benfica and the aforementioned Gil Vicente. 

Still, it´s hard to see past a return to winning form for the home side, with Porto claiming the points in 14 of 16 home Primeira Liga matches over the past twelve months.11 of those wins also saw at least three goals scored with Porto themselves scoring three or more in all 11 victories.

Visiting Estoril seem unlikely to pose much threat, with the away side losing seven of their eight most recent league games. Now just six points above the relegation play-off position, the Canarinhos have lost each of their last six on their travels while failing to score in five successive away defeats and losing by more than one goal in four.

While Estoril did hold Porto to a surprise draw in the reverse fixture earlier this season, the h2h record at this venue does suggest a simple enough win is to be expected for the hosts, with Porto winning each of their last five home league matches against Estoril. The visitors failed to score in all five losses, with Porto covering the -1 handicap on four occasions. 

With that in mind, we´re backing Porto to cover the -1 handicap in what should prove a relatively routine and straightforward victory for Sérgio Conceição´s side.
