Poland have endured a tough campaign and find themselves in a must-win situation coming into Friday´s crucial qualifier. Sitting third in the section, the Poles need three points here and for either Albania or Czechia to drop points in their remaining fixtures.

Having already suffered defeats on their travels against Czechia, Moldova and Albania, Poland have badly underperformed over the past year. At home, the Poles did manage to claim wins against Albania and the Faroes however a 1:1 draw with Moldova in their most recent qualifier could prove especially damaging.

However, the Poles may take some confidence from the less-than-stellar form of the Czechs in 2023. The visitors arrive in Warsaw having slumped to a shock 3:0 loss in Albania before a nervy 1:0 win against Faroe Islands last time out.

On the road, the Czechs have taken four points from their three away qualifiers after a goalless draw in Moldova and a 3:0 win in Faroe Islands. 

With neither nation offering much inspiration, and given the importance of the fixture, a low-scoring contest seems likely on Friday. Poland have seen under 2.5 goals scored in five of their last six qualifiers while the Czechs have seen the same outcome in three of their last five qualification matches. The visitors have only scored three goals in their last four matches. 

Recent meetings between these nations have favoured Czechia with four of the last five matches falling in their favour including a 3:1 win in Prague earlier in this campaign. However, I expect a much tighter affair on Friday with the visitors likely to fight hard for the point that will see them qualify for next summer´s finals.
