Platense secured Liga Profesional in 2020, and in the next three seasons, they were mostly a mid-table team, winning between 31 and 34 points. Last season, Calamares won 34 points, just six points away from the Copa Sudamericana spot. In Copa de la Liga Profesional, Platense had a very poor start, winning just one point in three rounds. 

Lanus had a successful season in Liga Profesional, finishing 4th and securing Copa Libertadores Qualifiers. They won 45 points, 12 more than their next opponent, Platense.
