Palmeiras come into Wednesday's Brasileirão Betano contest after consecutive road losses in the past week. Abel Ferreira´s men slipped to a 2:1 defeat at Mirassol before a 1:0 reversal against Santos on Sunday. 

Much stronger at Allianz Parque, the Verdão won four of their last five home Serie A games, and 12 of 17 this season. Palmeiras lost only two home league games at this venue. 

That solid home form has been the foundation for the hosts title-charge. Ferreira´s side sit second in the division, now three points behind league leaders Flamengo. 

A high-scoring home win could prove a great value pick this week. Palmeiras have seen over 2.5 goals scored in five of six previous wins against Vitoria and in ten of their 12 most recent victories

Head coach Ferreira is likely to ponder some alterations to his selection this week. Lucas Evangelista, Paulinho, Weverton and Vitor Figueiredo remain sidelined with injury issues while top scorer Vitor Roque is on international duty with Brazil, and misses out for the home side this week.

Vitoria face a tough trip to Allianz Parque in decent form after extending their unbeaten run to two games with a 0:0 draw against Botafogo last weekend. Jair Ventura´s side scored a 1:0 home win against Internacional four days earlier. 

Less impressive on their travels, Vitoria suffered defeats in four of their last five away Serie A matches. Over a longer period, Ventura´s side lost ten and won just one of 16 road games this season. 

Vitoria boss Ventura has a lengthy list of players unavailable for selection this week. Fabrício Santos, Edu and Alexandre Fintelman are three of eight expected absentees for the away side.
