On Friday evening, Nottingham Forest, a Premier League side, will host La Liga team Villarreal in a friendly match at City Ground in Nottingham.
Nottingham secured promotion to the English top-flight division in the 2021/22 season and spent much of the following two seasons hovering around the relegation zone. Still, they managed to secure survival, which is only that matters for the popular Forest. Over the Summer, there were some changes in the roster, but we doubt they will be any better and we anticipate another season where they will battle for survival.

At home, that number is even better, as they averaged 1.4 goals per game. So, we believe they are capable of scoring against Villarreal's poor defense. However, on the defensive end, the Forest were pretty bad as well, as they had only four clean sheets through the 38 Premier League rounds. Also, they had only one clean sheet in four friendlies before the Villarreal game. That clean sheet was against Chesterfield, which played in the fifth tier of English football.
Villarreal are one of the best teams in Europe's top five leagues when it comes to this type of bet. They are a team that scored and allowed many goals last year, and because of this, 79% of their games in La Liga ended with both teams scoring. The popular Yellow Submarine continued with that trend, as all three of their friendlies finished with both teams scoring.
Considering all the above, both teams to score should be the safest option for this friendly match.

Nottingham spent 66.5 million euros on five transfers: Elliot Anderson, Nikola Milenkovic, Marko Stamenic, Carlos Miguel and Eric da Silva Moreira. Most of that money was for Anderson, but the most important arrival, at least short-term, could be Nikola Milenkovic. The Serbian center-back could easily find himself in the starting lineup since Felipe, Moussa Niakhate, and Scott McKenna left the team.
As a reminder, Worall and McKenna were banished from the first team last year. Even though there wasn't an official statement from the club, there are speculations that it was related to behavioral issues. However, Worral got some playing time in the preseason and might stay after all.

The club tried to strengthen the defense over the Summer. They added a center-back (Willy Kambwala), a full-back (Sergi Cardona), a defensive midfielder(Pape Hueye), and a backup goalkeeper (Diego Conde). Additionally, three offensive players - Arnaut Danjuma, Ben Brereton Diaz, and Haissem Hassan returned from loans. However, there are reports that Diaz will leave the club and join Southampton in the upcoming days.
