With just one defeat in their last eight league matches, Monza have moved themselves into the top half of Serie A. Currently sitting ninth in the division with 16 points from 11 games played, Raffaele Palladino´s men scored a fine 3:1 win at Verona last weekend to make it three wins in their last five league runouts.
On home soil, Monza have a strong record in 2023 with only three defeats in 16 matches played this year. However, they only managed to win five of those sixteen games with eight finishing deadlocked. More recently, I Biancorossi have begun this season with two wins and three draws from five home fixtures.
Torino makes the short journey east in positive spirits, having picked up back-to-back Serie A victories against Lecce and Sassuolo. However, Il Toro suffered a disappointing 2:1 home reversal against Frosinone in the Coppa Italia.
On the road, Ivan Juric´s side have lost three of their last five, having won five of their last six at the back end of last season. Still, with seven wins in their last 11 on the road, the visitors will fancy their chance of taking something against a Monza side that has struggled for home wins in recent months.
Last season´s meetings between these sides were the first competitive matches between these sides in over twenty years. Torino emerged victorious on their last trip to this venue in August 2022 with a 2:1 success.
A tough match to call, I expect Torino to take at least a point in a game where BTTS looks to offer some value. While neither side have been consistent in this market in recent months, both of last season's matches did see both teams net, and given their respective home and away form, I expect a low-scoring draw in Saturday´s late kickoff in Italy.
