Unbeaten in five Ligue 1 matches, Monaco will be confident of collecting another three points when they take on struggling Auxerre at the Stade Louis II (Monaco).

Having picked up a valuable draw at rivals Marseille on Sunday, Monaco finds themselves 4th in the table, some nine points behind leaders PSG and five points behind Les Phocéens following that 1:1 share of the spoils.

Contrastingly, Auxerre suffered their sixth successive Ligue 1 loss, this time against Montpellier, leaving them second bottom of the division, some five points from safety.

Following a ten-year absence from the top fligAuxerre have struggled to adapt to life in Ligue 1 following their promotion last summer, and a return to Ligue 2 looks increasingly likely for Christophe Pélissier´s side. 

On the road, Auxerre have been particularly poor, losing eight and winning just one of ten matches this season, and they are unlikely to feel confident about their chances against a Monaco side that put seven past Ajaccio in their most recent home victory.

Indeed, having already conceded five goals at Rennes and PSG, and four goals at Lille, it looks like another tough night should be on the cards for the struggling visitors.

Monaco´s home form has been pretty decent over the past few months, with five wins from their last seven at the Stade Louis II. In addition, the hosts edged to a 3:2 win when these sides met earlier in the season however, with home advantage, Monaco should make easier work of a side that continues to look out of their depth in the top division.
