If Luton gains promotion this season, that would be their fourth promotion in ten seasons. Since they arrived at Championship, they have constantly improved. In the last season, they were 6th and were knocked out in the playoff semi-finals. This season, the Hatters are in 4th place, seven points away from the direct promotion.
Lately, they have been outstanding, winning 10 points in the last four games. They managed to keep a clean sheet in the previous two games against Sheffield Utd and Swansea City.
Bristol City are in their 8th consecutive season in Championship, and it looks like they are not going anywhere this season. They are in 13th place with 15 points away from the relegation zone and nine points away from the playoff spot.
In the recent five games, they were solid and won eight points. Still, they struggled to score in those five games even though they mainly played against teams from the bottom half of the league's table. In those five matches, they scored only three goals.
Luton vs Bristol City pick: Under 2.5 goals
Luton mostly played low-scoring games in recent games. In the last ten matches, we have seen only two games with three or more goals. Luton did improve their defensive record lately, but they are slightly worse on the offensive end. On average, they scored one goal per game in the previous seven games.
Bristol City were just once over 2.5 goals in the last five road games. In the previous two road games, they failed to score. Those were games against Cardiff and Huddersfield - two of the worst teams in the league. They will have the difficult task of scoring against Luton on the road.
In the first h2h match this season, we have seen two goals.
