Two sides short on Premiership form come together at the Tony Macaroni Arena on Wednesday as Livingston hosts Dundee United.

While remaining seventh in the division, Livingston comes into this fixture having lost five of their last six Premiership contests, including each of the last four.

However, visiting Dundee United´s form is even worse, with the Tangerines losing each of their last six league matches, leaving them some four points adrift at the bottom of the table.

Now under the tenure of Jim Goodwin, Dundee Uts suffered a seventh loss in eight league games against Aberdeen at the weekend and have now picked up just one point since an away win at St Johnstone in the first week of January. 

Now with just 11 games remaining in the campaign, Goodwin will need a quick response from his new side, with the visitors in serious danger of a return to the Scottish Championship.

On the road, Dundee Utd have won just once all season with a meagre seven points collected from 13 away matches in the Premiership.

However, as mentioned, the hosts are also in something of a slump following a fourth successive loss at the hands of Hibs this past weekend. Livi conceded a total of 11 goals in heavy losses against ICT, Rangers and the aforementioned Hibees. The hosts have won just three of their last ten at the Tony Macaroni Arena and, while unlikely to be dragged into the relegation dogfight, will need to improve in the coming weeks if they are to claim a top-six spot before the end-of-season league split. 

Previous meetings between these sides have seen goals, with four of the last five at this arena seeing that outcome. While by no means a banker pick, we fancy a similar outcome with Dundee Utd potentially returning home with a point or more.
