While it has been a disappointing Premier League campaign for Liverpool, the Reds have finally begun to find some form in recent weeks, with eight successive league wins lifting them back up to fifth and just one point behind both Newcastle and Manchester Utd, albeit having played one game more. 

With only two games remaining in the season, it may well be the case that Jurgen Klopp´s side´s run of form may well have come too late to secure CL qualification. However, the Reds will be keen to give themselves every chance possible ahead of their trip to already relegated Southampton next weekend.

Of course, Aston Villa have also enjoyed a brilliant run of form in the second half of the season; however, back-to-back away losses have left the Villains down in eighth, but still in with a chance of a top-six finish depending on other results.

Since 2015, Villa have lost all four away PL matches at this venue, while the Reds have actually won nine of their ten PL meetings over the past eight years. In addition, five of their six most recent meetings saw BTTS and over 2.5 goals scored, suggesting we may be treated to a decent encounter on Saturday afternoon.

Indeed, while a competitive contest seems likely with Aston Villa, a much-improved side under Unay Emery, Liverpool´s superb form, coupled with their consistent record at Anfield, should see them edge towards a fifth successive league victory in front of their own support. 

Therefore, we´re backing a straight but likely narrow home win, and with Liverpool scoring successive 1:0 victories against Fulham and Brentford over the past fortnight, a similarly tight outcome can be expected.
