  • Competition: UEFA Champions League
  • Date: 13th September 2022
  • Kickoff: 21:00 CET
  • Venue: Anfield

After suffering the heaviest defeat of any Premier League side on the opening Matchday 1 of the Champions League group stage, fans will be expecting a response from Liverpool against an Eredivisie side that was one of the only three teams to earn maximum points in last season's group stage. Given Klopp’s men strong home record and the fact that they have won each of their last two meetings with Ajax, they will be confident of achieving three points here.

Meanwhile, the visitors got off to a good start with a 4-0 win over Rangers FC last weekend and another win here would do them a lot of good. To let you know how well Ajax is playing despite the loss of their manager Erik Ten Haag to Manchester United, this was the fifth time in their last seven games that they scored at least three goals. And considering that they also go into this game with a streak of five games without conceding a goal, you would not want to miss any second of Tuesday's game.

Liverpool vs Ajax Betting Tips: BTTS

Despite each of the last two meetings between these two sides ending with less than 1.5 goals, we expect Tuesday’s game to be entertaining with plenty of goals.

The visitors' front line simply can't be kept quiet for 90 minutes, so we expect both sides to end up scoring at least once in what could be a draw.

Liverpool Team News

Thiago Alcantara played over 30 minutes last time out after returning from an injury that has caused him to miss the Reds' last few games.

The return of the former FC Bayern Munich midfielder means that James Milner will have to make way in midfield, while Joel Matip will replace Joe Gomez in defense.

Fabio Carvalho is also back after an injury layoff, but Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Calvin Ramsay, Caoimhin Kelleher, Curtis Jones, Jordan Henderson and Naby Keita will all miss out again due to injury.

Ajax

Ajax Team News

Ajax have Owen Wijndal back in training after he missed the first match day with an ankle injury, but head coach Alfred Schreuder is unlikely to risk the left-back just yet.

Calvin Bassey is also questionable after picking up a knock in last weekend's win over Heerenveen in the league, but otherwise the visitors are in good shape ahead of their match with Liverpool.
