  • Venue: Windsor Park (Belfast)

Following a humiliating Champions League exit at the hands of Bodo/Glimt last week, Linfield will be hoping for big improvements when they take on Swiss side Zurich in UEFA Europa League qualifying at Windsor Park.

Having scored a famous 1:0 first leg victory against the Norwegians, Linfield would suffer a painful 8:0 defeat in the return leg in Norway, having been reduced to ten men inside the opening 20 minutes.

Now dropping into the Europa League, Linfield will be hoping to take advantage of a Zurich side that enters this contest, having also been dumped out of Champions League qualifying following a 5:4 aggregate defeat against Quarabag.

Linfield — FC Zurich Betting Tips: Linfield or draw

Indeed, while big favourites to progress, Zurich will need to improve their form significantly, with the Swiss side still yet to register a win in any of their opening 5 fixtures either in the Swiss Super Liga or in European competition. Going back to last season, Zurich have now failed to win any of their last 8 matches, including a 2:0 loss to St Gallen last weekend and a 3:2 away defeat against the Azerbaijanis.

In the Europa League, historically, Zurich have struggled, winning just 2 of their last 17 away matches since 2008, suggesting their odds on price here is perhaps somewhat unjustified.

Ultimately, Zurich looks far too short at just 1.57 odds to claim the away victory considering their lack of wins this season and on the road in Europe in years gone by. Indeed, Linfield have a pretty decent record in Belfast, and they look to offer the value here at 2.37 odds to win or draw.

Winless in five, head coach Foda will be tempted to make changes from the side that suffered a disappointing defeat at St Gallen last weekend.

As such, the likes of Marchesano and Santini could come into the visitor´s starting XI.
