Last year, Lecco finished third in the regular phase of Serie C and secured the promotion to Serie B throughout the playoffs. Still, it looked like Lecco would not play in Serie B because their stadium wasn't up to the standards of the competition. However, the federation later allowed them to compete in Serie B, but they didn't start according to plan. They are in 17th place with eight points but with one or two games fewer than the rest of the league. 

After spending three seasons in the Italian top-flight division, Spezia were relegated back to Serie B. They were very close to securing survival but lost an additional match vs Verona, which would secure them at least another season in Serie A. This season is an absolute disaster despite having one of the highest total market value in the league. At the moment, they are in 18th place with eight points from 11 matches.

Lecco had a terrible start to the season, losing six of seven matches. Still, they have been great in recent games, winning seven points in the last three games, including a win over Palermo, which is one of the best teams in the league. Also, those three good results were all on the road and will surely give them the necessary confidence to secure their first home win of the season.

Probably no one expected such a poor start of the season for Spezia, as they won only once in 11 rounds. At this moment, with only eight scored goals, they are the second-worst offensive team in the league. One of the key reasons for their poor offensive record is that their best striker, M'Bala Nzola, left the team, and Luca Moro and Francesco Pio Esposito, who were added to replace Nzola, are not playing at an expected level. Lately, they failed to score in four of the last five games.

Even though both teams are at the bottom of the league's table, the difference in form is massive. With that in mind and the home-pitch advantage, we think Lecco should secure all three points.
