Israel vs Belarus prediction 12.09.2023

Last year, Israel secured UEFA Nations League A by winning group 2 in League B with Iceland and Albania. They were lucky to face only two teams because Russia were eliminated from the competition due to recent events. In these Qualifiers, Israel are in 3rd place after five rounds with eight points - three behind Switzerland and one behind the second-placed Romania. 

Belarus had a tough last year as they were relegated from the UEFA Nations League C by finishing 4th in the group with Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, and Slovakia. Their poor results continued in EURO 2024 Qualifiers by losing the first three games in the competition. But with a win over Kosovo and a draw vs Andorra (where they objectively deserved three points), Belarus are now 4th with four points. 

Israel vs Belarus pick: Over 2.5 goals

Israel mostly played high-scoring games in recent years because they have a potent offense and a very poor defense. They are simply not good enough at the back and can't keep a clean sheet against anyone. They allowed at least one goal in all five matches in these EURO 2024 Qualifiers. Additionally, they have allowed at least a goal in the last 20 games in all competitions, and they faced some very poor teams like Andorra, Faroe Islands, Moldova, Malta, etc... So, it is unreal to expect they can keep their net intact vs Belarus. 

Belarus were over 2.5 goals in four of five games in these Qualifiers. At the moment, they have by far the worst defensive record in group I, with ten allowed goals, three more than the last-placed Andorra. On the other hand, they are not that bad offensively and have scored four goals in five matches. 

The first h2h game finished with a 2:1 win for Israel. Interestingly, all five h2h games between these teams ended with a 2:1 for either team. We expect Israel to win this time, but more importantly, we expect another high-scoring game with goals on both sides.
