After missing out on their last appearance at the World Cup in Russia 2018, Ghana makes an express return to this big stage, thanks to Thomas Partey who sent, with a goal in the second leg against Nigeria, his national team to Qatar 2022. It will be the fourth appearance for the popular " Black Stars" at the World Cup, who will play against Portugal, South Korea and Uruguay in Group "H" in Qatar, which means that against the Swiss they will want to make the best possible overture before the WC.

Meanwhile, the Swiss did not taste the bitterness of defeat once during their World Cup qualifying campaign, clearly showing just how dominant they were, leaving reigning European champions Italy behind. The popular "Nati" are regular participants of the WC, which is best evidenced by the fact that this will be their fifth consecutive appearance on this big "stage". They will be in a group with Brazil, Serbia and Cameroon, and now they want to win at any cost!

Ghana vs Switzerland Betting Tips: Team2 to Win

Ghana and Switzerland have never met before, which means that this will be the first clash between the two national teams. There is no doubt that both will want to further boost their confidence ahead of the start of the World Cup.

It's safe to say that Ghana have completely underperformed in recent months, their form not inspiring much confidence as Otto Addo's team have suffered three defeats from their last five games in all competitions.

What also creates further concern is the fact that the Black Stars were desperate in recent friendlies, since the triumph over Nicaragua (1-0) was actually the only one in the previous five friendly matches.

Besides all that, Ghana were out of ideas in front of goal, showing that they lack sharpness in attack. This is best explained by the fact that they only found the net twice in the previous six friendlies, conceding 9 during that time.

After shaky results at the beginning of the year, Switzerland could not have built a better momentum than this ahead of the World Cup. Their confidence is high, and justifiably so, given that they have beaten some of Europe's strongest national teams in the last three - Portugal 1-0, Spain 2-1 and the Czech Republic 2-1 in the last.

With that impressive series of results, the Swiss managed to avoid relegation from Nations League, and there is no doubt that they will do everything to achieve a triumph and gain enormous confidence before the World Cup. Namely, "Nati" were an incomparably better team than Ghana in all segments of the game lately, so we don't expect anything other than the victory of the Swiss.

Ghana Team News

Ghana received a huge blow right before the start of the WC, as they will be without their top two goalkeepers. First-choice goalkeeper Jojo Wollacott broke his finger in the warm-up ahead of the match with his English club - Charlton.

To make matters worse, second (reserve) goalkeeper Richard Ofori is struggling with a knee injury, meaning coach Otto Addo will have to dig deep to find adequate replacements for these two goalkeepers.

Majorca midfielder Iddrisu Baba, one of the key players for coach Otto Addo, will be ruled out of the World Cup due to a muscle injury sustained in the last LaLiga against Atletico Madrid in November.

Switzerland Team News

Meanwhile, first-choice goalkeeper Yann Sommer has missed the last five Bundesliga matches with an ankle injury, but Murat Yakin will count on him as he should be ready for the first match against Cameroon.

If the Borussia Monchengladbach goalkeeper is not ready enough, he should be replaced by 24-year-old Dortmund goalkeeper Gregor Kobel, who was impressive in goal this season.
