Hosts Freiburg endured a difficult September, which saw them collect just one point from three Bundesliga matches. 

Currently 9th in the division, the home side suffered a 5:0 thrashing at Stuttgart before a 4:2 loss at home to Dortmund; Freiburg picked up their first point of the month with a goalless draw at Eintracht last weekend, while their only victory came at Olympiakos (3:2) in the Europa League. 

On their own patch, Christian Streich´s side have been inconsistent in 2023. Of 12 games, Freiburg won six, drew three and lost three. Seven of those 12 matches saw BTTS, while just five went over 2.5 goals.

Visiting Augsburg arrives at Europa-Park Stadion two points behind the hosts after they picked up their first win of the season last weekend. Having picked up just two points from their first four matches, Enrico Maaßen´s side claimed a vital 2:1 win against Mainz to lift them out of the relegation places.

However, on the road, Augsburg have a miserable record. Sunday´s away side have not won on their travels since October 2022. The visitors have lost 12 and drawn 3 of their last 15 away league games since a 3:2 win at Schalke and will need a big improvement if they are to claim anything from this fixture.

Recent matches between these sides have favoured Freiburg - The Breisgau-Brasilianer have won five of their last six meetings, including a 3:1 win at this venue last season. 

With such a poor away record over the past 12 months, and given their previous losses to Freiburg, I´m backing the hosts to claim their first Bundesliga win since August.
