Following a painful 3:1 loss at home to RB, Bayern now finds themselves two points behind Dortmund coming into Saturday´s final round of fixtures. Knowing they must win while hoping BVB drops points at home to Mainz, the Bavarians' decade-long dominance of German football could be coming to an end this weekend.

Currently 10th, Koln are safe from the threat of relegation and, with nothing to play for, may well prove awkward opponents for a Bayern team that has seriously come off the rails in 2023. On their travels, Thomas Tuchel´s side have now lost three of their last six away league matches, with only one clean sheet managed in their previous eight road matches.

Indeed, goals should be expected across the country on Saturday and in Koln. Indeed, Koln´s recent form is pretty good, with the home side picking up four wins while losing just one of their eight most recent Bundesliga games.

Turning to the history books reveals that five of the last six league meetings between these sides also saw both teams scoring. Each of their last five contests at this venue also saw over 2.5 goals scored, while four of those games (including one friendly) saw BTTS. 

Ultimately, while Bayern are expected to give themselves a chance in this must-win fixture, we much prefer the likelihood of goals at both ends, and at least three match goals scored.
