FC Koln vs Bayern Munich prediction 24.11.2023

Since returning to the Bundesliga in the 2019/20 season, FC Koln were more or less in the lower part of the league's table, with only one good season, in 2021/22, when they finished 7th. This year is looking disastrous for the Goats as they are currently 17th with only six points in the first 11 rounds. FC Koln were also terrible in the DFB Pokal, considering Kaiserslautern eliminated them in the 1/16 Finals.

To say that Bayern Munich have been the best team in Germany for decades would be a massive understatement. The Bavarians won the previous 11 league titles, even though they were close to finishing second last year. With a little luck, they continued the incredible streak. This year, the goal is once again the same - to win it all. However, they had one surprising loss in the Cup vs Saarbrucken, but besides that, they are doing great. Right now, they already secured the next phase of the Champions League after only four rounds with a maximum of 12 points. In the Bundesliga, they are 2nd, only two points from the 1st-placed Bayer Leverkusen. 

FC Koln vs Bayern Munich pick: Bayern Munich to win and cover the -1.5 AH spread

FC Koln have been terrible this season, losing seven of 11 Bundesliga games. They also have the worst offensive record in the league, with nine scored goals in 11 rounds - 0.82 per game. Now, they will face the best defense in the league and will have a hard task of scoring against them. In the last two games, before the international break, vs Bochum and Augsburg, they drew (1:1), but they were super lucky and objectively deserved to lose at least one of those games. Despite avoiding the losses in the last two games, we do not see any improvement. 

Bayern Munich won eight of the last nine matches, losing only to Saarbrucken in the Cup. Besides that unexpected loss in the Cup, Bayern have been simply incredible in the rest of the games. In those nine-game stretch, Bayern scored 29 goals - 3.62 per game. On the road, the Bavarians were superb, winning seven of nine games in all competitions, with five of those seven wins coming with two or more goals difference. 

Traditionally, Bayern Munich dominated FC Koln and have won ten of the last 11 h2h games (friendlies excluded). The last time the Goats won against Bayern was back in February 2011. Bayern Munich are simply a better team, in much better form, and anything but a comfortable win for them would be a massive surprise for us.
