Egypt will be looking to seal top spot in Group D of AFCON Qualifiers when they play host to Ethiopia in Cairo on Friday evening.
After failing to qualify for the most prestigious tournament, the World Cup, a reaction was needed from the Pharaohs and they have given it to their supporters. Rui Vitória's side enter Friday's match on an eight-match winning streak across all competitions. They played five AFCON qualifiers in that period and won four of them, which has taken them to the top of Group D.
Ethiopia meanwhile failed to impress in their first AFCON qualifier, where they lost 2-1 away to Malawi. The Walia Ibex responded positively to beat Egypt in their second match at home, but have remained winless since then.
Egypt vs Ethiopia Betting Tips: Under 2.5 goals
Egypt's last few games have been very entertaining. At least three goals were seen in each of the last three matches but things have been different in the Pharaohs' recent home games. Two of the five qualifiers so far were played at home and both ended with less than 2.5 goals. Besides, Rui Vitória's team has already secured qualification in Group D, so he wouldn't want to overstretch his players.
Ethiopia is the weakest team in this group if you look at the table. The Ethiopians rarely concede many goals, however, as they conceded more than 2.5 goals in only one of their five matches so far. Three of these games saw less than 2.5 goals.
- Best Tip: Under 2.5 goals
- Egypt vs Ethiopia prediction: 2-0

Egypt team news
Egypt will welcome back their captain Mohamed Salah after the winger missed the friendly against South Sudan in June.
The Liverpool man will not be in the starting eleven on Friday however, according to a statement issued by the Egyptian Football Federation last weekend.
"Head coach Rui Vitoria will spare Salah for the match against Ethiopia as qualification has already been secured," the EFA statement said.
Mostafa Mohamed has had a flying start to his Ligue 1 campaign, registering four goals in four games and will lead the line on Friday.

Ethiopia team news
Ethiopia captain Shemeles Bekele scored a brace in the friendly against Guyana in June, so the ENPPI man will be the one to keep an eye on for the visitors.
The 33-year-old also netted one of the five goals the Ethiopians have scored so far in AFCON Qualification. The other four goals came from Kenean Markneh, Kitika Jima Ojulu, Dawa Hotessa Dukele and Abubeker Nassir.
