Denmark are coming to this EURO 2024 Qualifiers after a World Cup in Qatar, where they managed to win only one point in three matches. In the last game, against Australia, they had a chance to advance to the knockout phase, but even though they were a better team than Australia, they lost and blew a historic opportunity.
In the UEFA Nations League, before the World Cup, Denmark were great in the group with Croatia, France, and Austria. They finished 2nd, just one point behind Croatia but managed to win both on the road and at home against France and Austria.
In recent years, Denmark have been great defensively, but the impression is that they lack one world-class striker to make a serious step forward. Martin Braithwaite (Espanyol) is their first option for now, but young Rasmus Hojlund (Atalanta) could be their best option for the upcoming years.

Coach Kasper Hjulmand did not invite several notable names who played for Denmark in the World Cup or UEFA Nations League: Jannik Vestergaard (Leicester City), Daniel Wass (Brondby), Thomas Delaney, Robert Skov (Hoffenheim), and Yussuf Poulsen (RB Leipzig).
Christian Eriksen (Manchester United), Kasper Dolberg (Hoffenheim), and Andreas Skov Olsen (Club Brugge) are injured and will miss the first two games of the Euro 2024 Qualifiers.
Morten Hjulmand could record his first national team appearance after being a vital part of the Lecce squad this season.
