Chile kicked off their World Cup qualification campaign with a disappointing 3-1 loss on the road against Uruguay over the past weekend.

Prior to the defeat in Montevideo, Eduardo Berizzo's team had enjoyed a decent five-game unbeaten streak.

However, La Roja has faced difficulties in their recent home World Cup qualifiers, having suffered losses in each of their last three matches played in Chile. 

Colombia extended their unbeaten streak with a hard-fought 1-0 victory against neighbouring Venezuela over the past weekend. La Tricolor has remained unbeaten in ten matches since February 2022.

Néstor Lorenzo's team has proven to be resilient on their travels, having drawn six and lost just three out of 12 previous away World Cup qualification contests. 

This match is traditionally a closely fought contest, and picking a winner is no easy task. Therefore, another draw in Santiago wouldn't be surprising. Four of the last five meetings between these nations finished deadlocked. 

Recent Colombia matches tend to have few goals, so under 2.5 goals scored seems likely at the Estadio Monumental David Arellano.
