Scottish champions Celtic welcome English rivals Blackburn Rovers to Parkhead on Saturday for a potentially entertaining friendly fixture.

Goals can usually be expected when Ange Postecoglu´s side is in action, with the hosts seeing over 2.5 goals scored in 10 of their last 13 matches, including both of their pre-season friendlies, with the Hoops picking up a 2:2 draw against Rapid Vienna last time out.

Indeed, Celtic have been revitalised over the past year with their brand of attacking football, and they will be keen to start their new campaign in style in this their first home fixture of the season.

Blackburn, for their part, kicked off their pre-season preparations with a somewhat unimpressive draw against Dundee on Wednesday and a trip to Celtic Park certainly represents a significant step-up in standards.

Both sides begin their respective league campaigns at the end of July, so we expect fitness levels to be at similar levels, although Celtic should probably be expected to emerge with a win given their home advantage and ultimately greater levels of attacking quality.

Certainly, goals are usually the order of the day when Celtic are involved, and we expect an entertaining and potentially high-scoring contest with the hosts keen to make an impressive start to their title defence when the season kicks off in Scotland later this month.

As such, we´ll take a chance on over 3.5 match goals in what should prove a competitive cross-border friendly contest in Glasgow.
