Sitting on four and six points, respectively, both teams come into this fixture on losing form after both fell to weekend defeats.

Celta had taken a two-goal lead in Barcelona but remarkably conceded three goals in the final ten minutes of the game to fall to a cruel 3:2 defeat. The Sky Blues have now lost three of their last four matches and find themselves third from bottom ahead of Thursday´s match against Alaves.

On home soil, Celta have been in miserable form this season, having lost each of their first three matches while also failing to score in all three defeats. Mallorca claimed a 1:0 win in Celta´s most recent match at Abanca-Balaídos.

Visiting Alaves arrive in Vigo having lost their last two league matches - both by the same 2:0 scoreline against Rayo and Bilbao. 

Since their return to the top flight this summer, Alaves have lost all three away matches while also failing to score in all three losses. The visitors have collected six points from six games played this season.

Historically, Celta have a good record in this fixture, with five successive victories since 2020. However, given their start to the season, the hosts are tough to back on Thursday. 

Given both teams' respective dire home and away form - this match seems likely to be a low-scoring affair, with under 2.5 goals surely the best betting approach.
