A massive relegation six-pointer takes place in the Primera Division at the Estadio Nuevo Mirandilla on Monday as an improving Cadiz takes on bottom-of-the-table Elche.

Collecting 15 points from 16 matches, the home side remains very much in the fight for survival, having lost just two of their 11 most recent league matches, having previously lost each of their opening five fixtures of the season.

Now facing an Elche side that has taken just four points all season, the hosts will surely see this fixture as a must-win if they are to continue their fight to stay in the top flight for another campaign. 

Cadiz vs Elche Betting Tips: Cadiz to win

Having failed to pick up a point from their first five league games, Cadiz have certainly shown plenty of resilience in recent weeks to lose just two of their last 11. Only Real Madrid and Rayo Vallecano have claimed victories against Cadiz during that run.

While six draws have hindered their progress, the Estadio Nuevo Mirandilla has become something of a fortress for Cadiz, having claimed the scalp of Atletico Madrid while holding bigger clubs like Villarreal and Betis to hard-fought draws.

Unbeaten in their last five at home, albeit with four draws, Cadiz have steadily improved as this season has progressed. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for Elche, with the away side collecting a paltry four points all season.

On the road, Elche have lost six and drawn twice, with at least two goals conceded in all eight away matches this season. Going back to the end of the last campaign, Elche have now lost eight of their last 10 away league outings. 

Now some 11 points short of safety, Elche have now lost each of their five most recent league matches, including a 1:0 loss at home to Celta last time out. Given that dire form, Cadiz looks a solid bet to pick up the points here. The home side claimed a 3:0 win when these teams last met at the Estadio Nuevo Mirandilla back in May 2022, and we expect a similar outcome with the home side very much in better form.
