A nail-biting encounter awaits us on Wednesday when the two South American giants Brazil and Argentina face each other for the first time in over a year.
Brazil are coming off back to back defeats in their last two qualifiers against Uruguay and Colombia. The Brazilians were toothless against Uruguay, failing to register a single shot on goal, and against Colombia Fernando Diniz's side lost 1:2 after leading for over 70 minutes. The Selecao have dropped to fifth place in the standings, but will be happy with the fact that leaders Argentina also lost their last qualifier.
Prior to their defeat to Uruguay, the Argentinians had won eight games in a row. This included four victories in World Cup qualifiers, which Lionel Messi and Co. were of course keen to extend. Despite having most of the ball, Lionel Scaloni's side suffered their first defeat in almost a year and will no doubt be looking to respond on Wednesday.
Brazil vs Argentina Betting Tips: Under 2.5 goals
In the wake of the 2022 World Cup, Brazil have had plenty of joy when it comes to scoring goals but that form has waned of late. La Selecao have scored fewer than two goals in each of their last four World Cup qualifiers. Three of those games ended with under 2.5 goals.
Argentina have a strong attack in Leonel Messi, Julián Álvarez and Lautaro Martínez, but their good form has been built on a solid defence. Thanks to this solid defence, coach Lionel Scaloni's side have kept a clean sheet in eight of their last nine games. Only one of the five qualifying matches so far has produced two or more goals.

Brazil head coach Fernando Diniz will be without Neymar, Eder Militao, Ederson, Casemiro and Richarlison on Wednesday due to injuries.
Vinicius Junior is also expected to miss the visit of Argentina after the Real Madrid man was forced off before half-time in the defeat to Uruguay last time out.
Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker is expected to keep his place between the posts in Ederson's absence, while João Pedro can hope to play in the final third.

Argentina head coach Lionel Scaloni is expected to make a number of changes to his side that failed to score against Uruguay last time out.
Lionel Messi could be joined in the final third by Lautaro Martínez - who has scored 12 goals in 12 league games for Inter this season - and Nicolás González, while Marcos Acuña could get a start at left-back.
