Two sides struggling for Premier League consistency square off at Vitality Stadium on Sunday as Bournemouth hosts Chelsea. 

Bournemouth vs Chelsea Betting Tips: BTTS / Over 2.5 goals

This PL fixture is a particularly tricky one to call, with neither team yet to impress in the early stages of the campaign.

Hosts Bournemouth come into this contest having collected just two points from their first four league matches as new head coach Andoni Iraola continues to search for a first Cherries victory since his arrival from La Liga side Rayo. 

The Cherries have struggled for home form in 2023 and come into this PL contest winless in their last four at Vitality Stadium. Bournemouth have won just 3 of 12 games played since January while they have lost three of their last four, including a 3:1 loss against Chelsea in May.

The Blues arrive on the south coast having suffered a hugely disappointing 1:0 loss against Nottingham Forest in their last PL game a fortnight ago. Having impressed under new boss Mauricio Pochettino during pre-season, Chelsea have won just one of four Premier League games this season, collecting just four points in the process.

With both sides short in form, picking a winner is something of a thankless task, so I´ll turn to the goal markets with BTTS and over 2.5 goals, both offering some appeal.

Chelsea have failed to keep clean sheets in six of seven previous visits to this venue, with over 2.5 goals scored in six of those seven games. In addition, BTTS also occurred in five of those six fixtures.

Given all that, I´m going with BTTS, with neither side looking particularly likely to keep a clean sheet. Bournemouth have managed just one in their last 13 home PL games, while Chelsea have conceded in each of their last nine on the road.
