Following a 1:1 draw in Germany last week, Catalan giants Barcelona welcomes Bundesliga strugglers Eintracht Frankfurt to the Camp Nou on Thursday for their Europa League quarter-final second leg.

A place in the semi-finals against either Lyon or West Ham is up for grabs in Catalonia as an improving Barcelona looks to maintain their excellent form against the less-fancied Eintracht Frankfurt who despite being reduced to 10 men in last week´s first leg, claimed a more than a creditable draw against their more illustrious opponents.

Of course, Barcelona comes into this second leg as significant odds on favourites and should be expected to finish the job having won 9 and drawn 2 of their last matches. Indeed, Xavi´s side are now unbeaten in their last 15 fixtures with 12 wins achieved during that impressive run.

At home, Barca have won 4 and drawn 2 of their last 6 with clean sheets in their 4 most recent fixtures in Catalonia although they have failed to win any of their last 3 home European matches including a 0:0 draw with Galatasaray in the previous round.

Frankfurt, for their part, while without a win in any of their last 6 matches, are strong on the road, losing just 1 of their last 9 while they have also won 3 and drawn 1 of their last 4 away matches in this competition including a fine 2:1 win at Betis in the round of 16.

Still, with a big crowd behind them, you would still expect Barcelona to emerge victorious but we do expect Eintracht to put up a strong fight and considering their away form, can score to make this an intriguing contest but a place in the semis is likely to prove beyond their reach.

Final Score 3:1
