- Kickoff: 15:15 UK / 16.15 CET
- Venue: Estadio de los Juegos Mediterraneos (Almeria)
Last season, thanks to a better goal difference, Almeria managed to win the title in the Segunda Division and thereby ensure direct promotion to LaLiga. As with any newcomer, the absolute priority of the Andalusians this season will be survival in the company of the best, while any position in the top 10 would be an additional plus for this club. Namely, "Indalicos" currently occupy the 14th position in the LaLiga table with 17 points on their account, but the fact that only two points separate them from the first team below the line is something they should take into account in the coming period.
Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid has been for years now "not even a shadow" of the team that dominated Europe not so long ago and played in the UEFA Champions League finals in 2014 and 2016. This 2022/23 campaign is particularly bad for Diego Simeone and his chosen ones, since Atletico, for the first time since El Cholo led them, finished last in the UCL group. To make matters worse, they are not blooming in the Spanish championship either. They are currently in the fifth position in the table with 27 collected points and this performance means that they have definitely said goodbye to the fight for the LaLiga title, considering that they are behind the current leader, the Barcelona team, by as many as 14 points.
Almeria vs Atletico Madrid Betting Tips: Team2 to Win
The recent tradition of mutual clashes between these teams is absolutely on the side of the club from Madrid, considering that Diego Simeone's chosen have emerged as winners four times in the last five clashes.
The departure of Umar Sadiq, the player who carried the whole team on his back at the start of the season, was a huge blow for Almeria, who are clearly struggling in attack after the Nigerian striker left them.
What we can notice, besides the desperate form, is the lack of creativity in front of the goal. Not only have the Andalusians only taken a point from their last three games, but they have scored just one goal in that period.
Meanwhile, this is definitely the weakest campaign in the recent history of the Madrid club. The form of Atletico is far from the right one, since the victory over Elche (2-0) is the only success in the last five league games.
It is interesting that the Colchoneros showed a much better game away than at home, because even 5 of the total 8 triumphs this season were achieved outside of their stadium, and this fact gives them great hope.
True, Atletico is far from the real game we are used to from them in recent years, but taking into account the gap in quality between these teams, then wdo not expect anything other than a win for the visiting team. This win would surely be a good injection of confidence for the Atletico Madrid players after the defeat to Barcelona.

Almeria Team News
Almeria has no recent problems with injured players, but will still be without the long-injured Ivan Martos (Knee injury) and Marko Milovanovic (Unknown injury) due to serious injuries.
Coach Ruby has already gotten used to the absence of the mentioned duo. He put together a very respectable team even without them, so he is expected to come out with the strongest XI.

Atletico Madrid Team News
One of Atletico's key figures this season, Yannick Carrasco, suffered a muscle injury in the match against Barcelona, so his participation ahead of Sunday's clash will be assessed.
Mario Hermoso has served a one-match suspension, but it seems that he has problems with the injury, so he is marked as questionable. In that case, Axel Witsel will be at the heart of the defense.
Centre-back Stefan Savic was sent off from the field due to a straight red card and he will be suspended for at least two matches, while Portuguese Joao Felix joined Chelsea on a six-month loan.
