Almagro vs Boca Juniors Betting Tips: Under 2.5 goals

A tight contest seems likely this weekend, even if Almagaro are big underdogs for this Argentinian cup contest.

Currently 18th in the Primera Nacional, Almagro are a much stronger side when playing at home. While they have lost six of their last eight on the road, Almagro have lost only one of their last ten on home soil (W5, D4, L1). 

Goals are usually few and far between at this venue - Of those previous 10 games at the Estadio Carlos Augusto Mercado Luna; eight saw under 2.5 goals scored while an average of just 1.5 goals was scored in those fixtures. 

Boca makes the trip to La Rioja, having lost just one of their last seven away matches. Just three games into the new LPA season, the visitors have won one and lost two of their opening games of the campaign.

On their travels, Boca have seen under 2.5 goals scored in each of their last four games, and I expect a similar outcome this weekend with Almagro tough to beat in La Rioja.

The h2h record offers little in recent meetings, although Almagro will take heart from having eliminated Boca in this competition via penalty shout victory back in 2019. The home side also claimed victory when these sides last met in La Rioja all the way back in 2005. 

Ultimately, I expect this to prove a tricky night´s work for Boca, and while favourites to win, I´m taking a chance on under 2.5 goals scored with Almagaro also worth a bet in the double chance market.
